Scholarship and other Financial Assistance

The Scholarship and other Financial Assistance includes the UP Grants-In-Aid Program for undergraduate students and other financial assistance programs made through the generosity of donors and institutions that have joined UPOU in providing better opportunities for education. As of now, UPOU has a limited number of scholarship grants and other forms of financial assistance available to qualified students.

To accommodate UPOU undergraduate students (AA, BAMS, BES)  in need of financial assistance under the UP Grants-In-Aid Program for  Third Trimester A.Y. 2020 – 2021, the Student Learning Assistance System (SLAS) online will accept applications on the following schedule:

Who can apply for UP GIAP?

The UP GIAP will target the following undergraduate students (AA, BAMS, BES):

  • Students  who were granted TOSF subsidy under RA 10931, but are in need of monthly stipend and other forms of financial assistance
  • Students who were not eligible for TOSF subsidy under RA 10931 and have requested financial assistance and support from the University.

Eligibility:

  • Filipino student
  • Bonafide undergraduate UPOU student and must not have earned bachelor’s degree; and
  • In need of financial/support, as determined by the guidelines governing the UP GIAP

Where do I send my application to GIAP?

Student applicants need to log in using their respective UP Email account (@up.edu.ph email), fill  the form, and submit the application through SLAS Online at https://slasonline.up.edu.ph/ during the application period.  For those enrolled UPOU students who have not yet received their official UP email accounts, please contact ICTDO by emailing them at miso@upou.edu.ph

During the application period, kindly take note of the schedule. Applicants can file an appeal for higher financial assistance through SLAS online during the appeal period. Results of the appeal will be released after the deliberation of the  UPOU Committee on Scholarships and Financial Assistance. Additional documents or proofs may be requested from the student applicants.

Student Learning Assistance Application 

for Internet and Gadget Subsidy 2nd Trimester AY 2020-2021 (CLOSED)

 

 

To accommodate undergraduate students  (AA, BAMS, BES) in need of learning assistance (internet and gadget subsidy) in the 2nd Trimester AY 2020-2021, the SLAS Online will accept applications beginning 15 February 2021. Details of the learning assistance application can be accessed through this link: https://slasonline.up.edu.ph/

   

Students applying for assistance through the SLAS Online must use their respective UP Email (@up.edu.ph email). For those enrolled UPOU students who have not yet received their official UP email accounts, please contact ICTDO by emailing them at miso@upou.edu.ph

 Qualifications

  • Must be a natural born Filipino citizen
  • Must be a bonafide UPOU student enrolled for the current semester
  • Must have  a GWA of “1.75”  with no grade of “5.00”, “4.00” or “EXT” in the semester immediately following the application

 Applications and Requirements

    • Accomplished application form
    • One (1) 2×2 photo
    • Current Income Tax Return(ITR) and/or W2 of parents; If the applicant is working, his her Income Tax Return and/or W2; If married, attach ITR and/or W2 of a spouse; If income is derived from business, attach income statement; If exempted from filing attach BIR Cert. of Exemption; If parents are unemployed, attach a notarized affidavit of unemployment, indicate approximate income earned.
    • Current Form 5
    • True Copy of Grades from previous semester(s) (Cumulative GWA should be 1.75)
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character (from College) or from employer (if employed)
    • Birth Certificate
    • At least 3 letters of recommendation from previous Professors addressed to:

Benefits:
     Monthly stipend  — P2,500.00
     Book Allowance  —  P 3,000.00/sem.
     Thesis allowance — P5,000.00
